Best GPU for 2027 Games, by Published Requirements
The cheapest graphics card that clears every recommended spec published for a 2027 PC game so far is the AMD Radeon RX 9070, which launched at $549. On a tighter budget, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 ($299 at launch) meets the recommended card for 9 of 14 games and the minimum for 16 of 17.
That answer comes from comparing each card against the requirements publishers have actually posted, not from predictions. 17 of the 50 upcoming games we track name a minimum graphics card and 14 name a recommended one.
How popular cards compare
"Minimum met" counts the games whose minimum card your card matches or beats in our performance index; "recommended met" does the same for the recommended card. Where a publisher states a VRAM amount, the card must have at least that much.

The picks
- Clears every recommended spec: AMD Radeon RX 9070 — the lowest launch price of any card that matches or beats all 14 recommended cards.
- Best value under $350: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 — the most recommended specs met (9) at that price.
- Clears every minimum: AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT ($449 at launch). One game sets that bar on its own: SAW: Genesis names NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 as its minimum. Leave it out, and the Intel Arc B580 ($249) meets every other minimum.
What "meets the recommended spec" does not tell you
Publishers rarely say what resolution, settings or frame rate a recommended card is meant to deliver, so clearing it is a sign a card is in the right class — not a promise of 60 frames per second at 1440p. For a frame-rate estimate on a specific game, use the FPS estimator; to see where any card ranks overall, see the GPU tier list 2027.
Memory matters too: 12 of the 14 games that state a recommended amount ask for 16GB or more. Details are in how much RAM and storage 2027 games need.
Where these numbers come from
Every requirement quoted here is the publisher's own, read from the game's Steam store page on 12 September 2026. Placeholder entries — "TBD", "TBA", "Coming soon" — are treated as not published, never as a spec. Where we compare a graphics card or processor against a requirement, we use the performance index described in our editorial standards. We re-read every listing monthly, and this article is regenerated from that data each time, so its figures move when the publishers' do.
Launch MSRP is the manufacturer's price at release, in US dollars — not today's price, which we do not track.
